I learned that Nintendo World in NYC gets a shipment of Wiis everyday. Hoping that someone that went thru this experience can provide me with some tips. Has anyone purchased their Wii there? If so, what time did you start waiting on line? Store opens at 8am – what's the earliest I should be there? Any other things I should know?? Thanks ![]()
I was just there today! I got there at 5am and got in line near the Steakhouse's entrance (I think it's called Maxwell's). There were approx. 150 people in front of me. People started arriving there at midnight to get into line. At 8am someone from the store starts to hand out blue wristbands and if you get one (which I did), you get to buy a Wii. They sell approx. 200 – 250 systems daily. Once the store opens at 8am, they let approx. 20 people in the store at a time. The whole process took me 5 and a half hours – I was out of the store at 1030am. It was worth it!
TIPS – dress warm and bring a chair! I would also recommend going with someone in case you have to use the bathroom or get something to eat or drink so they can save your place in the line.
